Danica versus Brett at Daytona

This weekend the NASCAR Nationwide series kicks off at the Daytona International Speedway.  There is a lot of excitement around this years opening race largely due to a new driver who is trying her hand at stock car racing.  That would be one Danica Patrick.  She is of course well known for her  Indycar Racing success  and GoDaddy.com Super Bowl commercial fame.

Danica has achieved historic success at many levels of open wheel racing around the world including becoming the first female winner of a major closed-course auto race in 2008 at the Twin Ring Motegi and most recently she finished 3rd at the Indy 500 in 2009.  She brings a high level of tactical skill and experience to this weekend’s race that is sure to provide excitement that people will be talking about all next week.

That said, is she ready to face off with Brett Rowe of the Herd Racing Team?  Brett is a crafty veteran of various NASCAR series events and will not shaken at the start of the race by the sights and sounds of Daytona.  Led by Crew Chief Brian Tomes and Car Owner Dan Tomes the Heard Racing Team which runs the #75 Dodge that Brett will be driving is experienced and ready to meet any challenge that may come their way this weekend.

Check out some of this video with one Brett’s past NASCAR highlights to see what Danica needs to prepare for.
